Son found a chance to further reduce the gap to Cha after 57 minutes, but the ball hit the post for his hat-trick. After that, coach Myung-bo Hong, who had been the captain of the 2002 stunt team, replaced several players. Attackers Goo-sang Cho (FC Midtjylland) and Hee-chan Hwang (Wolverhampton Wanderers) further widened the quality gap in the score with two and one goal respectively in the final quarter.
