Brighton fans excited for Wembley Cup final

Brighton & Hove Albion fans are heading to Wembley for the Women's FA Cup final. Albion scored a last-minute goal against Liverpool in the semi-finals to set up a match against Manchester City. Sarah Marchant, who has followed the team for the past 30 years, traveled to the game by coach with her daughter Amy. Amy Marchant said: "This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will probably be unforgettable." Willow Kirk-George was also on the coach. He told BBC Radio Sussex that he was "optimistic" and that Albion "are capable of doing it". “I'm really excited that the one game I can go to is Wembley, so hopefully they can get a win for that,” she said. Kirk-George said that due to her job at a carvery, this is the first game she has been able to watch all season. Janet Backe, who has been an Albion fan for almost a decade, said: "I just can't believe we've got here, it's a real statement for the girls, really. They've done so well this season." He said he didn't even have time for a cup of tea before catching the coach to Wembley. Her friend Janet Cotton said "It's just amazing to have the Women's FA Cup final at Wembley, it's super exciting to be here with Brighton. There are so many people here too, supporting the game." Williams, 14, predicted a 2–1 win for Brighton and said he was feeling "excited and optimistic" for the cup final. The team was also supported by Bella Sankey, leader of Brighton and Hove City Council, who said: “This is a huge moment for girls and women, especially in Brighton and Sussex, it is important to understand its significance.” Zoe Johnson, managing director of women's football at Brighton and Hove Albion, told Radio Sussex: "Everyone is really pumped." She said, "I think many years of hard work have gone behind this. It will be a big day in history for us."
