Gorringe said, "When I came here, I came for a home match against Sheffield Wednesday. Luke Williams was still manager at the time, the stadium was half empty, we lost 1–0 because of one mistake. It was two disappointing teams, it was a poor game of football. You could feel the sadness in the air. This club had gone a long way from where we wanted to be."
