Fiorentina approaches Sassuolo for Thorstvedt, demands €15 million
Fiorentina are in talks with Sassuolo to bring back Thorstvedt, who is currently playing in the World Cup. Their demand is €15 million, with the possibility of including Simon Sohm.
Fiorentina are set to meet with Sassuolo tomorrow in a bid to reunite midfielder Kristian Thorstvedt with coach Fabio Grosso, while Besiktash is also interested. The Norway international is currently attending the World Cup with his team-mates, preparing for the knockout clash against Carlo Angelotti's Brazil on Sunday.
Thorstvedt has performed brilliantly under Grosso at Sassuolo, but as the coach left for new experiences at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, there is a possibility they could work together again this season. Sky Sport Italia and TuttoMercatoWeb have confirmed that a meeting has been scheduled for Friday between Sassuolo and Fiorentina to discuss the terms of the deal.
Viola director Fabio Paratici has already held a meeting with Thorstvedt's agent to work out personal terms, but both clubs need to reach an agreement. The asking price is around €15 million, but Fiorentina could potentially reduce the cost by including Simon Sohm as part of the exchange. Sohm has now returned to Florence after his loan spell at Bologna.
