Frenkie de Jong has started for Netherlands against Sweden in their second group match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This match is going to take place today and Netherlands is looking for its first win. Oranje manager, Ronald Koeman, announced the starting XI this morning.

However, before this match, there were some concerns about De Jong's fitness. Koeman told in the press conference that De Jong was feeling some discomfort in the lower abdomen. But, it is clear that the 29-year-old midfielder has recovered enough that not only is he participating in games, but he has also been included in the national team's starting lineup.
The Barcelona club is keeping an eye on this game, especially because another of their captains, Raphinha, suffered an injury the previous night. Meanwhile, Barcelona's summer transfer target, Micky van de Veen, is also starting in this match.
