The reality is that I didn't actually spend any time in a youth academy, and I only spent one professional season in the English second level. So, there were some holes in my game which should be there for a top French club. I was lacking some experience at the highest level. I wanted another season to show my progress at Marseille," he insisted. "When we discussed Everton's interest with the club's management, no one wanted to stop me. At least that was clear...
