Meanwhile, all players are looking forward to working closely with their new coach, Enzo Maresca, to understand his vision, strategies and way of playing for Manchester City.

The 28-man senior squad and academy players have now departed for Asia, where Manchester City's pre-season tour of summer 2026 will begin. In this tour, one match will be played in Hong Kong and two matches will be played in Seoul, South Korea. This summer marks the first time Manchester City have played in Hong Kong since 2019, while the Sky Blues played in Seoul in 2023 following their historic treble-winning season.

Manchester City's pre-season tour begins in Hong Kong against Italy's Serie A champions Inter on August 1 at Kai Tak Sports Park. This will be the fifth meeting between the two clubs in friendlies and competitive fixtures. The first encounters between the English club and the Italian side took place during pre-season friendly matches in 2010 and 2011, while their first competitive encounter took place in June 2023, when Manchester City won the UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul, Turkey.

After the match with Inter, the Sky Blues will travel to Seoul for their two remaining fixtures, where they will face the K League All-Stars on Wednesday, August 5. Manchester City will conclude their pre-season tour of Asia against Atletico Madrid at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul on August 9. This will be the fourth match between the English club and the Spanish side.

All Manchester City pre-season friendly matches will be streamed live on ManCity.com and the official app for CITY+ subscribers. The Sky Blues have also arranged events with PUMA in Hong Kong and Seoul, allowing fans to interact with special guests outside matches, watch the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, take part in open training sessions and visit pop-up stores selling official City merchandise.

Manchester City are traveling with a relatively senior squad for this tour, although most of the first-team players have participated in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and many of these have returned ahead of the start of the new pre-season. Manchester City have clarified as part of their traveling squad announcement that several first team players who reached the World Cup quarter-finals will not be traveling due to the need for necessary rest time ahead of the new pre-season. However, some players who reached the World Cup round of 16 will be involved for part of the tour, but they were not with the squad that departed Manchester on Tuesday evening.
