The Black Cats are reported to be attempting to bring the Central African Republic international to the Stadium of Light this off-season. Kondogbia was an important squad player for Marseille last season, but he missed several matches due to injuries. The 33-year-old made 17 appearances for the French side last campaign, making one assist across all competitions. The Central African Republic player is one of the most experienced defensive midfielders in Ligue 1. Therefore, if Sunderland are successful in bringing him in on a short-term contract in this transfer window, he could become a real asset for them. Kondogbia's current contract with Marseille expires at the end of next season, which could give the Black Cats the opportunity to recruit him on the cheap this summer.
