Angers plans to retain Lens's Hervé Koffi
SCO Angers plan to retain Hervé Koffi, who excelled on loan from RC Lens last season. Angers may face difficulty in agreeing to Lens' asking price of €4.5 million for Koffi.
SCO Angers are seeking to retain Hervé Koffi (29), who impressed on loan from RC Lens last season. According to a report from Foot Mercato, Robin Risser sent Koffi out on loan after joining Angers from RC Strasbourg last summer. All parties benefited. Risser spent a stellar season with Les Sang et Or, helping his team finish second in Ligue 1 and win the Coupe de France trophy. His individual performances earned him a place in France's FIFA World Cup squad. Koffi probably had an even better campaign. No goalkeeper in Europe's top five leagues had a better post-shots-expected-goals figure. Naturally, Angers wants to keep the Burkina Faso international. However, this may be difficult to do, as Lens have set a price tag of €4.5 million for 29-year-old Koffi. This is a significant sum for a cash-strapped club like Le Sco. Anthony Lopes, who is a free agent after leaving FC Nantes, is another option.
