Atlanta no longer wants cases like Koopmeiners and Lookman
Atlanta is rethinking its marketing strategy after previous experiences with Koopmeiners and Lookman, saying now all players are useful but none are essential.
After two exhausting summers, Atlanta doesn't want to risk it a third time. Because the incidents with Koopmeiners and Lookman, both players expressed their desire to leave (but with different results), may have changed the club's mind. There were three potentially explosive situations that had to be dealt with one way or another. On one side were Ederson and Palestra. The Brazilian has expressed his desire to leave several times over the past few years, but not publicly, turning down a contract improvement. Perhaps he wanted to depart in the summer of 2025, but he had a two-year contract. This time, Manchester United - at a very high figure, 53 million euros including all bonuses - is now ready to close the deal. This is an excellent achievement, twelve months ahead of the expiry date. Again, the outsider: at Cagliari he performed very well, perhaps before Atalanta he could have been given a chance, but now he did not want to waste any more time. Sales of 45-50 million euros would be amazing, complete profitability. Then close the market to go out. Perhaps there will be some adjustments for Carnesecchi and Scalvini. Certainly for Scamacca. Because after a struggling season with Palladino, he was nearing the end of a year, but with the option he gets two, until 2028. It will be central for Maurizio Sarri and he could reclaim the center of attack, although there have been (many) contacts with Roma in the last few weeks. It is to understand whether Gasperini will keep the soul in peace or try to take it away with an outrageous proposal. However, the sentiment is clear: now all are useful and none are necessary. It is enough to come up with an important proposal.
