Jurgen Klopp has announced he is 'recharged' and ready to return as Germany's new head coach. He has confirmed that he will hold talks with the DFB soon. Germany is in need of a new coach following the resignation of Julian Nagelsmann following a disappointing World Cup performance. After Germany's exit from the World Cup knockout stage, Nagelsmann was relieved of his position. They faced defeat in the penalty shootout against Paraguay, their first such experience in the World Cup. Nagelsmann had won praise for leading Germany to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, but their defeat at the recent World Cup added to the disappointment of group stage exits in 2018 and 2022. The German Football Association (DFB) said in a statement that contact had been made with Klopp and he was interested in the job. Klopp, speaking for Magenta TV as a World Cup analyst, said, "Yes, I can confirm the conversation. I said Nagelsmann resigned and the DFB is working on a succession plan." Klopp further said that the timing is not entirely right for him, as he is currently under contract with Red Bull, but he is ready for the role. "When I was at Liverpool, I lacked the energy for another year, but now I'm completely recharged," he said. Klopp also said that he would have to talk through a number of issues with the DFB and made it clear that Nagelsmann was not alone responsible for the team's failures. If Klopp accepts the post, his first match could see Germany face long-time rivals the Netherlands in the Nations League on September 24. Germany will also play against Greece twice and Serbia once in this international window.---
