Lenglet leaves Barcelona, ​​will sign with Atlético till 2028

Clement Lenglet has decided to leave Barcelona. The footballer has agreed to terminate his contract with the club, which is the result of ongoing negotiations since the end of last season. The agreement was reached on Monday morning and the club announced it officially on Tuesday morning. Now Lenglet is free to sign with Atlético de Madrid. Atlético wanted Lenglet available for free so they could sign him. Now he is completely independent. The agreement comes as Atlético is set to travel to the United States to take part in the World Cup.

Negotiations were not easy for Lenglet, as he had two years left on his contract with Barcelona, ​​in which he would earn a total of 16 million euros. All parties have compromised to reach this agreement. The player has repaid some of his earnings at Barcelona and the club has also paid him some of the amount. Last year, when Barcelona renewed Lenglet's contract, the plan was already in place for him to leave the club at the end of his contract.

Prior to this, Lenglet was sent on loan to Atlético, while he also remained on loan at Tottenham and Aston Villa. Now Atlético want to sign him permanently, and for this it was necessary for him to become free and reduce his earnings, which has now been done.

Once his departure from Barcelona is confirmed, Clement Lenglet will officially become an Atlético player. He played 31 matches for Atletico last season, and will now sign a contract with the Metropolitano team until 2028.
