Former referee Igor Fedotov expressed his opinion on MbappƩ not being given a penalty in the 2026 World Cup
Igor Fedotov has termed the decision not to give a penalty to MbappƩ in the 2026 World Cup match as wrong.
Former Russian Premier League referee Igor Fedotov expressed his opinion on the non-award of penalty to Kylian MbappƩ in the 2026 World Cup first round group match between France and Senegal. In this match, France defeated Senegal 3-1.

Fedotov said, "Sadio Mane collided with MbappƩ, but the referee did not give a penalty against France even after looking at VAR. This would be called a mistake. Mane did not touch the ball, and MbappƩ was not even trying to fall, he was running in a normal manner. The right decision would have been to give a penalty against Senegal and give Mane a yellow card to stop a possible attack."
Fedotov made this statement during a conversation with 'Championat' correspondent Mikhail Rozhdestvensky.
