Álvaro Arbelo is facing a serious crisis as his coaching career at Fulham begins. After six weeks in the English Premier League, Fulham are bottom of the table with just two points. Fulham have only two wins this season, which have come against Wimbledon and West Ham in the English Cup. Fulham's poor performances have put a lot of pressure on Arbelo, especially as the team has conceded last-minute goals in four of its last six games.

However, according to English media reports, the reasons for Fulham's instability are not just on the field. A report from the Telegraph states that Arbelo is facing resistance from players in implementing his style of play. It is being said that the new strategy of the Spanish coach is proving to be confusing for the players and according to him this new method is further increasing the weaknesses of the team.

Indeed, Fulham's players had expressed their dissatisfaction during pre-season and believed that the quality of training under Arbelo had significantly decreased compared to Marco Silva's time. Fulham have bought young and inexperienced players Gonzalo García, César Palacios and Manuel Ángel from Real Madrid for more than 50 million euros, raising doubts about Arbelo's project.

Arbelo coached Real Madrid in 28 matches before coming to London, and then took over from Marco Silva to lead Fulham. The Telegraph again clarified that Fulham had expected Silva to extend his contract and had begun planning for the new season based on this. However, Silva's unexpected transfer to Benjifica affected the club's plans and led to Arbelo's appointment.

This new era has not been at all promising for Fulham; Only six goals have been scored in the first six weeks of the Premier League with four defeats and two ties, while their defense has failed to concede 10 goals. Arbelo is forced to look to improve his team's performances and results in their next two Premier League matches, against Hull City and County City.

The 43-year-old coach responded to criticism after Saturday's 2-1 defeat against Ipswich, saying: "Maybe you don't know me, but I've played for the best team in the world. I've led the best team in the world. You might not know it, but ever since I was a kid, pressure has always been a part of my life."

What will happen next

Fulham need to improve their performances in the next matches, otherwise Arbelo's position could become even weaker. Arbelo may need to change his coaching style to address discontent among players. If the situation does not improve, Fulham's position in the Premier League may become even more serious.
