Canada finally recorded its first win in the Men's World Cup by defeating Qatar 6–0. The hero of this spectacular victory was Jonathan David, who once again demonstrated his abilities by scoring a goal for his country. After a disappointing performance in the previous match, the 26-year-old Juventus player scored his first goal at the World Cup with a superb volley. After this, he scored two more goals. His second goal came from a quick strike from close range into the box, and the third after a brilliant move to beat his defender. With this performance, David became only the second CONCACAF player to score a hat-trick in the World Cup. Earlier, this feat was achieved by American player Burt Patenaude in 1930. This is an amazing 96 year old record! Canada has created history by becoming the first team outside Europe and South America to score 5 or more goals in this match. The hosts have not hesitated to show that they truly deserve to be in the World Cup, and Jonathan David is the face of that leadership.
