Spain took the lead as Austria played at the best of their game. Pedro Porro scored the goal, in a relatively unlikely position. The Spanish players moved the ball from right to left. Cucurella passed to Baena, who put the ball into the center of the field, where Porro arrived at the right time and scored with a header, giving Austrian goalkeeper Schlager no chance.
