Brazil beats Haiti 3-0 in FIFA World Cup, but lacks real form

Brazil won 3โ€“0 against Haiti at the World Cup, but the quality of their performances has raised concerns. Coach Ancelotti praised the first half performance and spoke of the need for improvement for the next match against Scotland.

The Philadelphia Stadium brought back memories of Brazil's glorious past. Ronaldinho, who became world champion in 2002, was in attendance, while fans waved fake World Cup trophies into the stadium. In the 3โ€“0 win against Haiti, Matheus Cunha scored two goals and Vinicius Jr scored another fine goal โ€” all in the first half. With this win, Brazil registered its first win in this tournament, and the fans were seen dancing in yellow.

However, it is worth noting that Brazil faced a team like Haiti, which is 80 places lower in the FIFA world rankings. Brazil's performance was so weak in the second half that they did not take any shots on target. Haiti took seven shots in the second half, compared to Brazil.

Argentina and France have made an impact in the United States recently, while Brazil is struggling to find its true form. After an unproductive 1-1 draw against Morocco in the first Group C match, Brazil have four points from two matches and are hoping to progress to the last 32 stage.

Brazilian fans in Philadelphia arrived in large numbers in the city. Many ticketless supporters had come from far and wide, just to see their heroes on the World Cup stage. Ancelotti spoke in a firm tone in his post-match press conference. Responding to the first question, he said, "We were much better in the first half. In the second half, they controlled a little more, but we had more opportunities to score goals. Overall it was a good match."

He also talked about the future of Matheus Cunha, discussing whether he will play in the next match against Scotland after scoring two goals against Haiti. "We'll see," Ancelotti said.

Brazil's all-time best goalscorer Neymar, who has been out of the squad since last October, has also been confirmed available to play against Scotland. Ancelotti revealed that Neymar will join the squad for the next match.

However, this victory also came at a cost, as Raphinha, the leading goalscorer in World Cup qualifying, had to leave the field due to injury. Ancelotti said he would provide more details on the situation soon. Finally, Brazilian fans were eager to see 19-year-old Endrick on the World Cup stage, who entered in the 64th minute.
